Custom Wine Labels — Made in Toronto

A wine label works harder than most. The bottle gets chilled, so it sweats. It sits in an ice bucket, gets handled with wet hands, and moves in and out of a fridge. A label that lifts at the corners on the table ruins the impression the bottle was meant to make.

We print wine labels in North York, Toronto, in full colour, on two materials. Both are premium finishes — they just feel completely different in the hand, and they suit different bottles. Choosing between them is the main decision on this page.

Why condensation is the real test

Most wine label failures aren't caused by a single soaking. They're caused by cycling: cold and wet, then warm and dry, then cold again. Each cycle works moisture a little further under the edge, which is how a paper label ends up curling by the time the bottle reaches the table.

Both materials are waterproof. Neither is paper, so neither absorbs water the way paper does.

Soft Touch BOPP — supplied on rolls

BOPP is a polypropylene film, finished here with a soft touch laminate. Soft touch is worth feeling to understand: it's a matte lamination with a velvety, almost suede-like surface, and it kills glare so colours read deep and sophisticated rather than shiny.

It's also a laminate, which means it seals the printed surface against moisture, scuffing and handling. That combination — premium hand-feel plus a sealed print — is why it's the material for bottles that genuinely get chilled, iced, gripped with wet hands and moved in and out of a fridge.

Rolls are the practical format once you're labelling a real production run, because they feed in order, one at a time, rather than being picked off a sheet on a bottling morning.

Textured Vinyl — supplied on sheets

Textured vinyl has a canvas-like surface — a fine woven texture you can feel under your thumb, closer to artist's canvas or linen than to a printed film. It's the finish people mean when they say a bottle feels handmade rather than manufactured, and it's what separates a boutique bottle from a mass-produced one on a shelf.

Sheets suit small runs and hand application, and they're easier to store between batches.

Which should you choose?

  • Soft Touch BOPP — for bottles that get chilled, served, handled, or produced in volume. Velvety matte finish with the print sealed under laminate.
  • Textured Vinyl — for gifts, weddings, small-batch runs and shelf presence. Canvas texture, for when the feel of the bottle is part of the product.

Not sure? Tell us how the bottle will actually be used and we'll tell you which one we'd run.

Permanent adhesive

Both materials use a permanent adhesive. Once the label is on the glass it stays on — through chilling, the ice bucket, wet hands and the fridge — so put it on straight the first time. Wipe the bottle dry, line the label up on the straight section of the glass, and press from the centre out.

What you can order

Front and back labels, wraparound labels, neck labels, and custom shapes cut to your artwork. Tell us your bottle and we'll size the label to the straight section of the glass during proofing, so nothing wrinkles on the curve. Split up to 4 designs across a single order, priced at the largest size. No minimum order.

Price

Wine labels are priced by size and quantity, and the price is the same whichever material you choose. At 2" × 2", 100 labels are $57.60, 250 are $83.16, 500 are $113.54 and 1,000 are $184.03 (about 18¢ each); at 3" × 3", 1,000 are $343.75; at 4" × 4", 1,000 are $500.00 — live prices as of September 27, 2026, before tax. Free shipping on orders over $100 to Canada and the US (US tariffs, if any, are charged on delivery), or pick up in North York.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Soft Touch BOPP and Textured Vinyl?

Soft Touch BOPP is a polypropylene film with a velvety matte laminate sealing the print, supplied on rolls. Textured Vinyl has a canvas-like woven surface, supplied on sheets. Both are premium; the choice is between a sealed, velvet-smooth finish and a tactile canvas one.

What does soft touch feel like?

Velvety and slightly warm, closer to suede than to paper or plastic. It's the finish used on premium book covers and packaging, and it's immediately noticeable when someone picks the bottle up.

Are wine labels waterproof?

Yes — both materials are waterproof. Neither is paper, so neither swells, pulps or curls when it gets wet. Soft Touch BOPP goes further again: the laminate seals the printed surface itself, which is what makes it the pick for condensation, ice and wet hands.

Are they wine-proof?

Waterproof isn't wine-proof, and the distinction matters on Textured Vinyl. Wine is acidic, pigmented and contains alcohol, and a spill left sitting on the textured surface can mark it. Wipe a spill rather than leaving it and you're fine — we'd rather tell you up front than have you find out on a finished bottle. On Soft Touch BOPP the print sits sealed under the laminate.

Which one should I use for bottles served in an ice bucket?

Soft Touch BOPP. That's exactly the job the laminate is doing.

Can I remove the label afterwards?

No. The adhesive is permanent, so treat the label as part of the bottle.

What size fits a standard 750ml bottle?

It depends on the bottle — Bordeaux, Burgundy and Hock bottles all have different straight sections. Send us your dimensions, or tell us which bottle you're using, and we'll confirm the fit on your free proof rather than guessing from a template.

Can I order labels for a single special bottle?

Yes. There's no minimum order quantity, so a one-off bottle for a wedding or a gift is a normal order for us.

How long does production take?

1–3 business days after you approve your free proof, which we send within 24 hours of your order.

Do you ship to the United States?

Yes — free shipping on orders over $100. Any US tariffs are charged on delivery and are the buyer's responsibility.
