Custom Candle Labels — Waterproof BOPP on Rolls, Gloss or Matte, Printed in Toronto
A candle label has to look right on a shelf, take the warmth of a burning jar, and not go soft when fragrance oil gets on it. Ours are our roll labels, made for candles: waterproof, freezer-grade BOPP film with a gloss or matte laminate, printed in full colour at our shop in North York, Toronto, cut to your shape, and supplied on rolls so you can label a hundred jars in an afternoon. Most candle makers order 2" or 3" labels; the calculator takes any size up to 7.5" × 12".
What you're getting
BOPP is a plastic film, not paper. It doesn't absorb water, so condensation, a wet counter or a wipe-down doesn't lift it or blur the print, and it's rated for the fridge, the freezer and the dishwasher. The print sits under a laminate: gloss for brighter colour, matte for no glare. Candle makers order both in equal numbers. Same material, same price. Every label comes on a roll on a 3" core, so it loads into a hand dispenser or an applicator and peels one after the other.
Heat and oil
Two questions every candle maker asks, answered plainly. A jar gets warm while the candle burns, and the label handles that — it's not built for high heat, so keep it away from the flame side of a tin and off any surface that gets hot. Fragrance oil: the label is oil-resistant, but how well depends on what's in your particular oil, and there are a lot of blends out there. If you want to be sure, order a small run first — there's no minimum — and test it on your own jar with your own oil before the full order.
Sizes and shapes
Presets at 2" × 2", 3" × 3" and 4" × 4"; 2" and 3" are what candle makers buy most. Custom Size takes anything from 1" × 1" up to 7.5" × 12", which covers a wrap on most jars and a lid label on a tin. Choose the cut: your artwork's outline, rounded corners, oval/round, or rectangle/square. If you're not sure what fits, put the jar's size or the product name in the order notes and we'll check the fit at proofing.
Price
Price follows size and quantity. Live prices as of October 1, 2026, before tax, from 100 labels:

Smaller runs are fine — choose Custom Quantity and enter the number you need. Free shipping on orders over $100 to Canada and the US (US tariffs, if any, are charged on delivery), or pick up in North York.
Four designs, one order
Upload up to 4 artwork files in a single order and split the quantity between them any way you like. Mixed sizes are fine; the order is priced at the largest size in the batch. For a candle line that means the front label and the warning label go in as one order, or four scents share one run at the 250 price instead of four runs at the 50 price.
Clear or textured instead?
Two sister products for two looks. Clear candle labels are printed on transparent film, so the wax and the jar show through around your artwork. Textured candle labels have a canvas-textured finish for a premium jar. This page is the standard white label, which is what most candle makers order.

Who orders them
Candle makers, from a first batch of fifty jars to a line sold in shops. Importers labelling candles for the Canadian market. And anyone putting a name on a jar — a wedding, a shop's house candle, a fundraiser. Our guide to making candle labels walks through the design side.
Ordering
Upload a PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, SVG or PSD — vector files are best for logos and text; a 300 DPI PNG works for most. Pick a size, quantity, cut and finish, and check out. You get a digital proof, usually within 24 hours, showing the exact cut line; if something's off, we revise it at no charge. Approve it and production takes 1–3 business days, then the rolls ship or are ready for pickup.
Questions we get
Are candle labels waterproof? Yes. BOPP film under a laminate — rated for the fridge, the freezer and the dishwasher.
Will the heat from the candle affect the label? The warmth of a burning jar is fine. High heat is not — keep the label away from the flame side of a tin or a hot surface.
Are they oil-resistant? Yes, with a caveat: it depends on the chemicals in your fragrance oil. Test a small run on your own jar if you want to be certain.
Do they come on rolls or sheets? Rolls, on a 3" core, like all our roll labels.
What size should I order for a candle? 2" or 3" for most jars — those are the two sizes candle makers buy most. Enter any size up to 7.5" × 12" for a wrap or a lid.
Gloss or matte? Either. Candle makers split evenly between the two — gloss for brighter colour, matte for no glare. Same price.
Can I order the warning label in the same order? Yes. Up to 4 designs per order, priced at the largest size.
Is there a minimum order? No. Choose Custom Quantity and enter the number you need.
Do you ship to the United States? Yes — free shipping on orders over $100. Any US tariffs are charged on delivery and are the buyer's responsibility.
