Custom Acrylic Charms — Laser Cut, Full Colour, Made in Toronto

A charm is the small version of merch that people actually keep. It hangs off a bag zip, a set of keys, a phone strap, a shoelace — and it stays there, because it's light and it doesn't get in the way. We cut ours from clear 3 mm acrylic to the outline of your artwork and print it in full colour. Ten is the minimum, and the price per piece is low enough that artists sell them by the handful at a table.

How we make them

Charms are printed on clear 3 mm acrylic in three passes: colour, then a layer of white, then colour again. The white sits in the middle, so the print is solid and opaque, not see-through, and the colours come out deep from the front. Because the second colour pass is on the far side of the white, the back of the charm shows a mirrored version of your artwork rather than a blank white face. Colours print as they appear in your file; gradients are the one thing that doesn't always come out exactly as it looks on screen, and we'll show you how it will print in the proof. Then the sheet goes to the laser, which follows your outline and leaves a clear edge of about 0.0325" to 0.0625" around the print. That edge is what keeps the cut clean; it also means charms can't be printed full bleed.

Every charm gets a standard 0.085" hole (about 2.2 mm) at the top, sized for most keyrings, clasps and jump rings. Want a bigger hole, a hole somewhere else, or no hole at all? Say so in Special Instructions and it'll show in your proof. Charms ship with a clear protective film on the surface — peel it off when they arrive.

Sizes

From 1" × 1" up to 5" × 5", any shape. Split up to 4 different designs across one order; pricing follows the largest size in the batch.

What people do with them

Whatever you can hang, clip, thread or stick one to. Some go on keyrings and bag zips. Shops resell them as their own product line, or tuck one in with a higher-end item as a finishing touch. We've made them as earrings, and as decorations that thread onto shoelaces the way a dubrae does. Convention and Etsy artists order them in sets so customers can pick a favourite character. Barely a day goes by without someone sending us artwork for something we hadn't thought of.

One side or two?

A standard charm shows your artwork on the front and its mirror image on the back. For most uses that's exactly right and it's what keeps the price down. If you want the artwork to read correctly from both sides — say, for a keychain you're assembling yourself with your own hardware — look at our Double Acrylic Charms. Two printed layers are sealed together, so both faces show the design properly and the acrylic shows on both sides; they cost more, and they look it.

Upload a high-resolution PNG. No template needed. Within 1 business day you get a digital proof showing the cut line, the clear border and the hole position. Approve it and production takes 3–5 business days. Free shipping on orders over $100 to Canada and the US. There's no maximum — for large runs, ask us for a quote and we'll price it properly.

Questions we get

Is there a minimum order? Yes, 10 charms, and you can split them across up to 4 designs.

Do charms come with a jump ring or keyring? No, you get the charm only. Hardware is easy to add and most people already have what they need.

Can I get a charm without a hole? Yes. Note it in Special Instructions at checkout.

Can the back be printed white? Yes, on request. Ask for it when you review your proof and we'll build it in before production. Without it, the back shows the mirrored image of your artwork.

What file types do you take? PNG is easiest. PDF, AI, EPS, SVG and PSD are fine too. If your file needs work, we'll flag it during proofing.

Do you ship to the United States? Yes. Free on orders over $100.
