Vinyl stickers are great because they make your brand stand out and look professional, but if you don't take proper care of them they won't last as long as they should. Fortunately, our stickers and decals are already durable.
Still, we want you to get the most out of your designs so we've compiled the most common questions about how to best care for vinyl stickers into an easy-to-follow FAQs format that will help you keep your stickers looking their best for years to come!
How vinyl stickers are made
Our durable Vinyl stickers are made using a heavy vinyl that is then applied to any smooth surface. The sticker can be removed at any time without damaging the original surface and no residue will remain!
Are vinyl stickers waterproof?
Vinyl stickers are water resistant but, as with any adhesive, shouldn't be fully submerged in water for long periods of time.
How should I clean my vinyl stickers?
To maintain the best appearance of your stickers, you should clean them with plain water and a soft cloth. If necessary, mild dish soap can be used to remove more difficult grime.
Are vinyl stickers removable?
Yes. Vinyl stickers are applied using a specially formulated adhesive. As long as you don't apply to surfaces that aren't smooth, the sticker will not leave any residue!
How long will my vinyl stickers last?
Very well maintained stickers can last up to 3-5 years outdoors. Keeping them clean and free of dirt and grime ensures that you can get the most out of your designs for as long as possible.
What surfaces are best for vinyl stickers?
The best surface to apply your sticker is any clean, smooth, flat surface. If applied correctly, you should not be able to tell where the sticker ends and the original surface begins!
Are vinyl stickers dishwasher safe?
Yes, vinyl stickers are dishwasher safe. If you want to keep your vinyl stickers looking their best, we recommend lightly washing off any water bottles, cups or similar with water and a soft cloth. However, occasional dishwasher exposure should be fine. Keep in mind though, even superior vinyl decals will eventually lose their adhesive ability if constantly washed in a dishwasher.
Are vinyl stickers reusable?
No Vinyl stickers are not reusable. If you want your stickers to last for as long as possible, we do not recommend reusing them. Rather, consider ordering several different designs via a roll label or sticker sheet so you can hold up different designs to your desired location for application. Then, choose from the designs you've selected by adhering to your ultimate choice.
Are vinyl stickers good for cars?
Yes, our vinyl stickers are perfect for cars. Many of our customers print custom stickers and decals for their vehicles! Die cut Vinyl stickers are perfect for showcasing your brand or hobbies and even advertising for your business. Because vinyl stickers can be cut to any size, shape and design, many people use them on their vehicles to make a statement and thousands of impressions each day as they pass other drivers.
Vinyl stickers do not leave residue on your car if removed with best practices. We recommend applying them to the outside of your windows, in a location where they won't obscure your view or interfere with any windshield wipers. Many customers apply their designs along their vehicle's doors and trunk areas...anywhere on the exterior of the car is fine and sure to last!
Are vinyl stickers good for laptops?
Yes, our vinyl stickers are great for laptops. While clear, flat computer cases are usually best suited to our easy-to-apply vinyl decals, our customers have found success printing vinyl stickers for their laptops. You will want to make sure you apply your laptop sticker to a smooth surface that has no obstructions, such as buttons or logos.
It's best not to apply vinyl stickers on top of Apple computer decals, emblems or any other textured surface that may interfere with the ability of the adhesive backing to adhere correctly. The best surfaces are flat, smooth and clear so the vinyl adheres to the surface easily.
Are vinyl stickers waterproof?
Yes! As long as your custom vinyl decals are applied correctly to a smooth, non-porous surface (which will make them nearly invisible once applied) they will repel liquid. This is due to the protective top-layer of our premium vinyl material, which inhibits liquid penetration, keeping your application free from water damage that could cause the adhesive to lose its hold.
What should I do when my vinyl stickers need to be swapped out?
We are sure you'll be delighted with your custom vinyl sticker order, but if for any reason, you need to swap out your stickers, simply reorder through us and we will get your printing requests processed almost immediately after we receive your approval of the proof.
